Clarity first
I break complex requirements into flows that users and future developers can understand.
About me
I am Maina, a full-stack JavaScript developer from Nairobi who enjoys turning practical problems into clear, dependable web experiences.
The short version
I started coding in college and quickly found that the best part of development is making complicated things feel understandable. Today I work across the frontend and backend, building with React, Node.js, Express and PostgreSQL.
My current focus is the Property Marketplace project — a Kenyan platform that brings listings, inquiries, favorites, saved searches and role-based access into one product. Building it has given me space to practice both product thinking and secure engineering.
Alongside development, I am studying cybersecurity. That learning influences how I think about authentication, permissions, validation, uploads and the way an application handles people’s data.
Good software should feel calm to use and intentional under the hood.
My approach
I break complex requirements into flows that users and future developers can understand.
I pay attention to who can view, create or change data — not just whether a button works.
I prefer steady learning, useful feedback and small improvements that compound over time.
